This is a huge flawless garnet. It is so deep red in color it looks like a ripe cherry. It has a excellent custom asscher cut? This is the true color of garnet that has been prized for thousands of years. It has always been the blood red garnet that was the famous color. This one does not disappoint. The color shoots out of it like fire. this would make a spectacular ring or pendant. I purchased this Garnet in a collection of sapphires. I did not dig it myself. I do not know its origin for sure but it looks just like our garnets from our mine on the Missouri river, Montana, All the sapphires where also Montana's. This is a one of a kind Garnet.
